SEACOP V, port cooperation project against maritime trafficking

Following the success achieved in the four previous phases of SEACOP, the European Union is funding a fifth phase of this project that aims to provide support in the fight against illicit maritime trafficking and associated criminal networks in Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa, using an approach which respects human rights. 

Expertise France is implementing this project with the collaboration of FIIAPP whose specific objectives are: 

  • To strengthen the effectiveness of the maritime intelligence and maritime control network 
  • To integrate knowledge and experiences concerning maritime threats and bans derived from illicit trafficking routes 
  • To improve cooperation and information exchange at the national, regional and trans-regional levels including EUROPOL and FRONTEX
