Critical Maritime Routes in the Gulf of Guinea project (CRIMGO)

Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe

This project financed by the European Commission, in which FIIAPP is collaborating, aims to combat the increase in piracy along maritime routes as they pass through the Gulf of Guinea.

The main actions will be oriented towards creating a training system for security forces, creating an information system shared by all countries, modifying the legal framework to permit coordinated actions between various countries, and supporting regional organisations (ECOWAS, ECCAS, MOWCA and GCC) in developing their maritime security strategies.
