A Jordanian delegation made up of five members of this country's parliament, including the Vice President of the Finance and Economy Commission, visited the FIIAPP this morning to see the international cooperation work being done at the Foundation firsthand. During the visit, they also attended the presentation by the Spanish Air Safety Agency (AESA)and the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE)on the Twinning projects being implemented in Jordan.
This visit is part of a wide-ranging agenda the Jordanian delegation has been following since last Thursday related to the twinning project ‘Strengthening the capacities of the Jordanian Court of Auditors’, managed by the FIIAPP, with the Netherlands and Estonia as junior partners.
This programme pairs the Spanish Court of Auditors with the Jordanian Supreme Audit Institution, the Audit Bureau, with the objective of strengthening the capacity of the latter to improve accountability and effective management of public funds in this Middle Eastern country.
Likewise, the two actions being implemented seek to provide greater support to the Audit Office by reinforcing its technical and management capacity for planning and conducting audits in accordance with European Union practices and international standards.
To achieve these objectives, work is underway to introduce a uniform methodology for auditing all accounts and to implement an anti-fraud and anti-corruption strategy while simultaneously training the staff of the Jordanian Audit Bureau.
