Turkish civil enforcement offices draw up a coordination protocol

In Turkey, since October 2018, the implementation of project Twinning has taken place on the improvement of civil enforcement capacities of offices. Since then, the Turkish judiciary has been working with its Spanish counterparts with the aim of improving its efficiency and regaining the confidence of the Turkish public in its work.

The pandemic has taken a toll throughout the world and this project has also been affected by COVID-19. One of the objectives is the physical creation of civil enforcement offices and for five months the activities were affected. But they have returned, if possible, with an even stronger desire and increased strength to continue working on the objectives set.

The project has a series of missions designed to help increase confidence in the judiciary and they want to achieve this by working to ensure the operation of law enforcement services in a more effective, impartial, predictable and consistent manner.

For this, Spanish specialists from the Ministry of Justice, together with their Turkish counterparts, are immersed in a process of analysis of the main deficiencies and best practices regarding coordination between Enforcement Offices together with Enforcement Judges. After conducting the analysis, they will promote better coordination, synergy, and a coalition of interests and efforts with the development of a coordination protocol.

The implementation of a new model of pilot law enforcement offices can ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of enforcement services and can help increase public confidence in the judiciary.
