The meeting, facilitated by the EU4Youth project, is part of a study visit about young people at risk of exclusion.
A delegation from the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Tunisia has participated in a study visit to Spain on youth inclusion policies.
The group visited the ONCE Foundation, where they were able to see at first hand the employment and education policies implemented to promote the participation of people with disabilities. There, they also learned about other areas in which the foundation collaborates, such as exhibitions and artistic projects. They also visited its innovation department, where they create technology and products adapted to users with disabilities thanks to 3D printers.
The delegation visited the ONCE bibliographic service, where they saw how it works and the catalogue of books and works adapted with sensory elements. They then visited the Typhlological Museum. This adapted museum is characterised by the fact that visitors are invited to touch the works on display, many of which are miniatures of national and international monuments, making it one of the most accessible museums in the world.
The day ended with a blindfolded dinner, where participants experienced first-hand what it is like to eat without being able to see what is on your plate.
In addition to the ONCE, the Tunisian delegation also visited other institutions in Madrid and Seville. In Madrid, they were able to learn about the functioning of INJUVE and AECID, the relationship between different agencies and the establishment of public policies in Spain. In Seville, they focused on activities at regional level in the field of youth and inclusion through sport and culture.
EU4Youth is a project that aims to strengthen the inclusion and participation of vulnerable Tunisian youth in public life through creativity, culture and sport, taking into account the different forms of exclusion.
