Training on operational techniques to fight against drug trafficking

The FIIAPP organised an activity where thirty security agents in the fight against drug trafficking in Bolivia specialised in operational techniques through the knowledge and experience of two European elite units.

The project to fight drug trafficking in Bolivia, funded by the European Commission and managed by the FIIAPP continues its training activities programme for officials of the various bodies fighting drug trafficking in Bolivia such as the Special Force to Combat Drug Trafficking (FELCN) or the General Command of the Police, among others.

On this occasion, the activity was aimed at official security agents (from lieutenant to colonel) and its objective was to provide these senior officials with basic skills in operational techniques, and empower them with very practical, useful and effective tools. These tools will enable them to create a logical doctrine, as well as passing on procedures, protocols and best practices constituting one of the priority lines of attack, which is particularly effective in the fight against drug trafficking.

Due to the constant mobility of these senior officers for different positions of responsibility it has become necessary to give these agents the necessary knowledge that enables them to direct and manage criminal intelligence processes developed under their supervision with a better approach.

This training lasted 21 days was divided into four subject blocks, fitness and nutrition, police interventions in buildings, intervention in vehicles and arresting occupants and the last one on location targeting.
