This week, the Third Annual Conference of the COPOLAD Programme is taking place in Quito, Ecuador, and it will analyse key aspects of drugs policies.
The Conference aims to reinforce the opportunities for exchange and dialogue between Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union to contribute to the improvement of drug policies in both regions.On the first day of sessions, the debate will focus on the gender perspective, presenting the current situation and the trends in indicators regarding drugs.
Senior authorities from the different countries of Latin American, the Caribbean and the European Union are taking part, as well as the highest representatives from agencies and institutions in both regions which work in the sphere of drugs.
Within the framework of this Conference, COPOLAD will be putting on the photography exhibition entitled “Gender focus: alternative development in Bolivia”, which consists of 12 photos showing images of the Jatun Sach’a alternative development project implemented since 2011 in the Yungas (forest regions) of Bolivia with the consultancy and evaluation of GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH).
This exhibition, which focuses particularly on gender, was produced and financed within the framework of the COPOLAD Programme and it has the collaboration of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Bolivia.
The photography exhibition can be visited from 11 to 14 June at the Hilton Colón Hotel in Quito, Ecuador.
