Macedonia is promoting improvements in the quality of its postal service with a promotional campaign, in collaboration with a twinning project with the European Union
The capacity-building twinning project with the North Macedonia Postal Agencyhas arranged, in Skopje, Macedonia, an official event to launch the promotional campaign “Your postal item in a secure mailbox” under the slogans: “Satisfied users! No more lost or damaged letters or newspapers! Safe and timely delivery of small packages!”
The event has been attended by members of the Macedonian Postal Agency and Market Analysis Directorate and, on behalf of Spain, the Ministries of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda and Postal Services.
The situation of the postal market in North Macedonia was described at the event as well as the achievements of the twinning project and the plans and programmes proposed for 2020. It has also included a session focused on highlighting the importance and benefits of having mailboxes. On the other hand, Spanish specialists have reported on the process of implementing private mailboxes in our country.
The campaign “Your postal item in a secure mailbox” pursues the objective of promoting the benefits of having national mailboxes and complying with European Standard EN 13724.
This campaign is part of the twinning project initiated in December 2018 and is the product of excellent cooperation between the Postal Agency, the European Union delegation, the Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda and FIIAPP.
About the project
The main objective of this project, which is funded by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, is to improve the quality of the postal services and provide training for the employees of North Macedonia’s Postal Agency.
The twinning project arises from recommendations by the European Union calling for the total liberalisation of the postal market and it aims to help the Macedonian Ministry of Transport and Communications establish a new strategy for the development of the postal sector in matters relating to regulations, accounting, inspection, mailboxes and market analysis.
