The Vice-President of the Government, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, chaired the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP), a public sector state foundation (F.S.P.). The meeting took stock of the work of the FIIAPP, F.S.P. in 2016, and approved the accounts for the past year.

The Board of Trustees adopted an ambitious Strategic Plan 2017-2020, which sets the framework for action and focuses its activities on effective and efficient management of technical cooperation programmes and projects at the service of Administrations and aligned with the priorities of the foreign and cooperation policy.

2016 was another exceptional year for the FIIAPP, F.S.P, achieving a historic performance volume with €40.7 million and the awarding of new projects amounting to €124.07 million, which suggests a strong increase in its productivity. The Foundation worked in 108 countries (historic maximum) on international strategic technical cooperation programmes and projects for the various bodies of the Spanish Administration. It reinforced its presence in Latin America and in the security sector and the fight against organised crime, while maintaining its important activity in other sectors such as justice and transparency, social policy and rights, economic sectors, governance and modernisation of Public Administrations, among others.

In addition, the FIIAPP continued its collaboration with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the General Secretariat of International Cooperation for Development (SGCID) in the execution of projects.
