The Spanish tax model, a reference for the administration of Montenegro

Within the framework of the twinning project between Montenegro and Spain “Support for the Tax Administration“, funded by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, a meeting took place between members of the Spanish Tax Administration and those of its Montenegrin equivalent.

Specialists in the learning and implementation of methodologies, processes and IT tools trained the Montenegrin delegation in project management and IT services.

The training was completed by a visit to the Special Delegation of Madrid of the Tax Agency which enabled the Montenegrins to familiarise themselves with the management of the Prior Appointment System used for the different services provided by the State Tax Administration (AEAT) Delegations.

The main objectives of the project are the modernisation of the Tax Administration of Montenegro and the provision of technical guidance so that Montenegro can meet the European Union’s pre-accession requirements in terms of taxes, such as the adoption of the common VAT system.
