The Ministry of Education of the Government of Castile and León and FIIAPP will work to improve the quality of the Algerian university system and development
The Minister of Education of the Government of Castile and León, Fernando Rey, alongside the Director General of Universities and Research, Pilar Garcés, has presented the project “Support to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the reinforcement of pedagogical skills of teachers-researchers and the management of the administration”.
This twinning project, financed by the European Union and to be managed by FIIAPP, has a budget of 1,600,000 euros and will last two and a half years, beginning in April 2019.
During the presentation of the project, Rey stressed “the suitability of the specialists appointed in each of the lines of work, as well as the experience and prestige of the university system of our Community and a strategic plan for internationalization of the university system of Castile and Leon.”
The general objective of the project is to provide quality higher education to contribute to the development of the Algerian economy and to promote the creation of a globally competitive space for the knowledge economy. The needs expressed by the Algerian Ministry show clear and urgent expectations regarding the methods and tools that work to strengthen pedagogical skills and improve management and its openness to the international scene. This twinning project will provide important organizational and methodological support for the Ministry to promote reform and contribute to the success of the new vision of education, training and research by methodically addressing the European recommendations on higher education established in the framework of the Bologna Process and the European Higher Education Area.
