Supporting the reform and modernisation of the Myanmar Police Service is the objective of this EU-funded and FIIAPP-managed project
The project “Support for the Reform of the Myanmar Police Service” (MYPOL) has shared the progress achieved so far with the Spanish ambassador to the region, who took an interest in the work to modernise the service during his visit to the country.
The aim of this European Union-funded and FIIAPP-managed project is to improve the institutional capacity of the Myanmar police service based on international best practices.
The Spanish National Police is working with its counterparts to further promote the service offered to citizens, gender equality and respect for human rights in different areas: criminal investigation, community policing and crowd management.
The ambassador, Emilio de Miguel Calabia, visited the team’s office in Nay Pyi Taw to learn about the challenges the project faces. He has shown his support from the Spanish Embassy in Bangkok and its dependency in Myanmar.
