Through the ACTÚE Colombia project, financed by the European Union, the FIIAPP is providing technical and financial assistance to the country for the development of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Action Plan, a multilateral initiative to improve government performance.
Over 15 days in five Colombian cities, eight months of work between the Colombian government and civil society was done to promote compliance with international standards in the area of transparency, access to public information and participation in the Andean nation.
A series of meetings were held within the framework of the Two-Year Action Plan (2015-2017) of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Colombia. This partnership is a voluntary multilateral initiative, with the participation of 64 countries, which seeks to improve government performance, foment effective participation, and improve the capacity of governments to respond to their citizens. Its working tools are the implementation of strategies in the area of transparency, access to information, citizen participation, and the use of new technologies capable of generating concrete and visible changes in a series of priority sectors that include social inclusion, health, education and the environment.
The FIIAPP, through the European Union-funded delegated cooperation project “ACTUE Colombia” (European Union Anti-corruption and Transparency for Colombia), is supporting the Colombian government and key stakeholders in civil society by providing technical and financial assistance for developing the content of the OGP Action Plan, as well as in leading the process of consultation with key stakeholders in civil society through eight round tables held between 17th and 30th April in Bogotá, Cali, Medellín, Bucaramanga and Montería.
