The Macedonian Postal Agency's project to Strengthen the Capacities of the Postal Agency has hosted the 54th Plenary Session of the CERP in Skopje
The European Postal Regulation Committee (CERP), the organization responsible for postal regulation and European coordination and preparation for meetings of the Universal Postal Union , meets annually to adopt decisions, recommendations and common positions on postal regulation. In this last edition the host country was Northern Macedonia, specifically the Postal Agency of the country and, in turn, the twinned institution that the Strengthening the Capacities of the Postal Agency project works with. That project is funded by the European Union. and managed by FIIAPP.
At the meeting, the discussion forums revolved around the instruments of technical cooperation between the European Union and non-member countries, highlighting, in this case, the value of the twinning project between Spain and Northern Macedonia, which is managed by FIIAPP. Indeed, in the plenary session there were two presentations on the project.
In addition, three eminently technical discussion forums also took place at the meeting which were directly related to the project’s objectives, such as new developments in the new European postal regulations or the expectations of the Universal Postal Union for the 2021-2024 period.
The event, which has generated a lot of anticipation due to the transformative moment now being experienced in the postal sector, involved about 100 people from many different countries, such as Japan, France, Azerbaijan, Romania, Serbia and Denmark and, with representatives from the EU Delegation in Macedonia, as well as the Balkan country’s Postal Agency, standing out amongst them.
