08/06/2021
Within the framework of the project financed by the European Union (EU) “Advanced counter-terrorism for the security of Lebanon” led by the FIIAPP and in which CIVIPOL participates, a training course on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of the cybersecurity action plan was held at the headquarters of the Prime Minister of Lebanon, in the Grand Serail.
The EU assistance aims to strengthen national capacities in Lebanon to react to threats from terrorism and organised crime and to assist the country in its policy to improve cybersecurity.
This training was organised with the support of the Secretary General of the Government, Mahmoud MAKKIEH, the National ICT Coordinator, Dr. Lina OUEIDAT and the General Secretariat of the Higher Defence Council.
Members of the interdepartmental commission in charge of implementing the Lebanese National Cybersecurity Strategy also attended. After reviewing the cycle management process established for the implementation of this strategy, the training focused on defining appropriate monitoring and evaluation indicators.
This activity provided methodological support for the preparation of the action plan to implement the recently adopted National Cybersecurity Strategy. During this activity, an expert in monitoring and evaluation accompanied the design of the framework required to monitor and evaluate the progress of the action plan. By devising this M&E framework and designing appropriate indicators and the corresponding data to be collected, this activity promoted the internalisation of the objectives laid down in the roadmap.
