The project is implemented until the end of 2024 with the Youth Department of the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication
The Regional Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality of the Andalusian Regional Government signed on 11 June during the steering committee meeting held in Rabat the commitment to start working on the European twinning project “Support for the strengthening of governance and the deployment of innovative initiatives for the inclusion of young people in Morocco”. This twinning aims to strengthen governance mechanisms, promote innovative initiatives in favour of the inclusion of young people in Morocco, develop an institutional response that integrates their needs and define more inclusive measures both socially and economically.
The signing took place during the steering committee of the project in Rabat, which has been running for 10 months. Through the mobility of national and international experts, this twinning project supports the country in the inclusion of its youth, who play a vital role in social, economic, cultural and political development. The project addresses the reform of legal and organisational aspects of the institution, inter-ministerial coordination, convergence of the programmes of the different ministerial departments, as well as support for the implementation of innovative initiatives that enable the social and economic inclusion of young people in the country.
This project is part of the line of cooperation between institutions promoted by the European Union, with the FIIAPP as the main implementing agency in Spain. It is a horizontal and direct cooperation between counterpart institutions with the aim of improving public policies and public systems in areas such as climate, digitalisation, security, justice and social cohesion. It is a unique form of cooperation with which Europe can make a difference in the world and accelerate the pace of achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
In Spain, the FIIAPP is the institution in charge of managing twinning projects and to date has managed more than 300, being the first European operator in number of projects implemented through this instrument. Therefore, the FIIAPP always accompanies and works with the Spanish institutions that apply for twinning, from the formulation to the implementation of the project, as well as all the administrative management and support to ensure the exchange of expertise.
