The Twinning project to support the Algerian Ministry of Education has organised a cycle of activities on active methodology and lexicographic resources
The European Twinning project Support for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Algeria, managed by FIIAPP, has organised another cycle of activities to continue contributing to achieving the project’s objective, which is to improve the quality of Algerian higher education by strengthening research lecturers’ research skills and the management capacities of the administration.
As part of the project, work is being done to diversify the range of training offered, adapt pedagogical methods, and improve the governance of education institutions in line with the standards of the Bologna Process and the European Higher Education Area.
The last cycle of activities, which was made up of sixteen actions, was led by experts from the Universities of Valladolid, Alicante and Castilla la Mancha, who exchanged knowledge with Algerian experts on two topics: active educational methodologies and preparing manuals and lexicographic resources.
In the block of activities aimed at providing knowledge on various aspects pertaining to higher education and the application of active methodologies, there were presentations on topics such as the role of education today, new teaching methods, training in multidisciplinary competencies, and adaptations for students with disabilities, among others.
The activities on preparing lexicographic resources and manuals included content on media pedagogy and methods for preparing Arabic-Spanish teaching material and Arabic-French-Spanish lexicographic resources.
The quality of the training was very much appreciated by the participants and by the Algerian project manager, who expressed her gratitude at the sending of various works from the Toledo School of Translators (a historical Spanish institution renowned for its work in translation and fostering Hispano-Arabic friendship) to the Higher Arab Institute of Translation of the University of Algiers 2 through the Algerian Embassy in Spain, and expressed her best wishes for collaboration between both institutions.
