The "Institutional support to improve the capabilities of Tunisia's research and innovation system" project kicks off
The event was chaired by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Slim Khalbous, and was also attended by that same ministry’s Secretary of State, the Ambassador of Spain in Tunisia, Guillermo Ardizone and the chief of cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union in the country , along with the main project specialists and high ranking dignitaries from Tunisian and Spanish public administrations.
This thirty-month twinning project, managed by the FIIAPP and funded by the European Union with €1,200,000 aims to improve Tunisia’s research and science system and to strengthen research and innovation activities and structures. Another project priority is to adapt Tunisian legislation to that of the European Union and reinforce the capacities of the institutions responsible for its implementation in accordance with EU and international standards.
Spain is participating in this project through the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities with several public bodies involved in the Spanish science and innovation system such as the EOI , the CDTI , the AEI , the CSIC , the OEPM and the CIEMAT , among others. All these institutions will support Tunisia through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to achieve the proposed objective and improve the economy of the country.
