Representatives of the National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI) of Cuba exchanged good practices in the subject matter with their Spanish counterparts

Cuban experts have been able to learn about the working methodologies of the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA) during this study visit, organized by the Cuba-European Union Expert Exchange Programme II, funded by the European Union and managed by the FIIAPP. This activity has served to exchange experiences in the organization of statistical information systems.
This visit took place within the framework of collaboration between the programme and the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA), which began with a first study visit that took place last April, followed by a workshop given by three IECA experts in Havana in May. Four officials from the National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI) participated in this visit , including the Director of the Information Methodology Area.
During the working week, issues relating to the definition and calculation of quality indicators for statistical activities, as well as to statistical data banks and, in particular, to the Statistical Data Bank of Andalusia or the merging of files through the aLink tool, among others, were dealt with.
