The Bolivian and Spanish institutions dedicated to the fight against the crimes of human smuggling and trafficking shared challenges and experiences in the field

The project of European support for Bolivian institutions in the fight against drug trafficking and related crimes has organised a study visit to Spain. Focused on the fight against the crimes of human smuggling and trafficking, the mission served to exchange experiences between the Bolivian and Spanish institutions involved.
The project, funded by the European Union and managed by the FIIAPP, in coordination with CONALTID, aims to strengthen Bolivian institutions in the fight against drug trafficking and related crimes, among which human smuggling and trafficking stand out as those that cause the most alarm to both Bolivian society and the country’s authorities.
The study visit allowed several Bolivian experts to deepen the exchange of good practices in coordination issues, research methodologies, information management and action protocols of the Security Forces of Spain, the Public Prosecutor, the Ministry of Justice, public institutions and civil society.
With this activity, the Bolivian institutions involved in the fight against this crime and linked to Comprehensive Law 263 against slave trade and human trafficking of the Plurinational State of Bolivia aim to improve their capacity for protection, prevention and persecution, as well as their capacity for national and international coordination.
