The Department of Education of Castile and León, the region with the safest classrooms in Spain, shares its experience
13/09/2013
Sharing the experience of Castile and León in the prevention of school bullying was the aim of the regional Department of Education‘s visit to Mexico, which was supported by the SOCIEUX+ programme. The visit sought to assess the implementation of a monitoring and evaluation system for this and other types of violence.
After several days of work in the country, reports were presented with conclusions and suggestions for improvement. These included the creation of a National Coexistence Observatory to create violence-free spaces, and defining monitoring indicators, as well as recording and evaluating school bullying in the country.
This activity also aims to train people to detect bullying and intervene in a specialised way. SOCIEUX+, an EU initiative managed by FIIAPP for social protection, work and employment, – met with experts from the central government and educational leaders from the states of Querétaro and Durango.
Castile and León, which has more than ten years’ experience working on the issue, has the safest classrooms in Spain and the third safest in the world, behind South Korea and the Netherlands, according to the most recent PISA Report.
SOCIEUX+ facilitates these short-term experiments with the support of European experts from different public administrations. It is an on-demand programme that addresses the requests of each member country.
The iniciative is also supported by Expertise France (EF), FIIAPP, BELINCOSOC and BTC.
