The 12th European Development Day (EDD) focused on gender equality and Queen Letizia attended its opening.
FIIAPP also shared its experiences in four of the projects it manages that address this issue in the largest European forum for international cooperation, these projects included: EUROsociAL+, Evalúa, EUROCLIMA+ and Bridging the Gap.
After speaking at the opening session, Queen Letizia visited the stands for the different projects being implemented by the agencies around the world. These included the EUROsociAL+ stand, where she was interested in the programme’s work to reduce gender inequality in Latin American countries.
She also had the opportunity to learn about the other European Union-financed projects that FIIAPP manages, such as Evalúa, EUROCLIMA+ and Bridging the Gap.
According to Queen Letizia, “Europe is essential for its social policies that set the course for cooperation” and “it is the strong focus on equality that underpins the development of skills that every human being deserves”, such as access to education and health or freedom and security of movement.
