This inter-institutional coordination office will promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge among the various organisations participating in the project, promoting synergies, cooperation and coordination among them. Furthermore, it seeks to make these links apply not just to actions carried out under the project but also to other future actions carried out by the European Union.
This new office of the project “ Support from EU law enforcement in the fight against drugs and organized crime in Peru ”, financed by the European Union and managed by the FIIAPP, will also organise training courses for police, judges and prosecutors aimed at helping them to improve the performance of their functions.
The project team is made up of a consortium of European Union member states, in which, in addition to the FIIAPP, the Spanish Ministries of Home Affairs and Justice, CIVIPOL, the French Ministry of the Interior, the Italian Ministry of Justice and the Romanian Police also participate. The Peruvian partner institutions, in collaboration with the team of European experts, aim to increase the effectiveness of public policies to combat drugs and organized crime in Peru.
The opening ceremony was chaired by the Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union to Peru, Diego Mellado Pascua and attended by the Peruvian Minister of the Interior, Carlos Morán Soto, as well as the Ambassadors of Spain, Italy, France and Romania.
