Algeria is working on an industrial innovation strategy arising from the work carried out in the European project and which it intends to maintain.
The twinning project “Supporting the Ministry of Industry and Mines in its industrial innovation strategy ” aimed to contribute to the industrial modernisation policy in Algeria, as well as to strengthen its capacity for industrial innovation . To achieve these objectives, for two years it has supported the Algerian Ministry of Industry and Mines in the defining of its industrial innovation strategy.
Launched in 2016, the project has been funded by the EU and managed by a European consortium in which the FIIAPP has participated. During these 24 months, 72 expert missions have been carried out in Algeria, for which 40 specialists from Spain, France and Finland have been mobilized. In addition, several training seminars and almost a dozen study visits to the European Union have also been held.
Over the course of the project, among other actions, the Algerian industrial innovation strategy has been created, the concept of “innovation” has been integrated into the missions of the National Agency for the Development of SMEs (ANDPME) , the first pilot survey on innovation in industrial companies, the agri-food competitiveness group of Mitidja has emerged and Algerian executives and trainers have been trained in innovation management .
As a great achievement, it is worth noting that the results obtained in these two years are intended to be maintained and extended beyond the twinning agreement </ ; highlights of them are the improvement of the industrial innovation strategy and the development of the integrated system of statistical information on innovation.
