As of today, Pedro Flores Urbano is the new director of the International and Ibero-American Foundation of Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP).
This afternoon, the Vice President of the Government, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, chaired the meeting of the Board of Trusteesat thePalacio de la Moncloa. The Board approved the appointment of Pedro Flores Urbano as the new director of the Foundation, replacing Javier Quintana Navío.
A native of Cádiz, Pedro Flores has a degree in Economics and Business Sciences from the University of Navarra. He completed his education with a Master’s in Economic Environmental Management from the University of Brasilia.
He has extensive professional experience in General State Administration, most of which he acquired abroad – first in the United States and later in Latin America. He has worked as a public executive for the past 17 years, directing programmes and projects in different areas of activity and coordinating the AGE’s activities with regional and local governments, both in Spain and abroad.
The new director of the FIIAPP also directed a Consortium of Public Administrations and has worked in other public institutions, including the ICEX and the AECID. In these positions, he was in charge of the administration and control of public funds, personnel management, and executing public projects.
Pedro Flores has also managed major events such as the Bicentennial of the First Spanish Constitution, which included organising various important institutional acts, including the 22nd Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.
He has received various awards throughout his professional career, including the Order of Civil Merit of Spain, the Order of Civil Merit of Federal Justice of Brazil, the Marechal Floriano Peixoto Medal of Merit, and the title of Honorary Citizen of Salvador (Bahía) and João Pessoa (Paraíba).
