Launch of the project to support the Moroccan Higher Institute of Magistrates (ISM) in its aim to create an accessible, independent and international system

Rabat has welcomed the launch ceremony for this project aimed at developing the capacities of the Moroccan Higher Institute of Magistrates (ISM), in addition to the further developments in the programme to support the reform of the judicial system, which the EU and Morocco have been running since 2105.
The aim of the reform is to strengthen the rule of law in Morocco through an accessible and independent justice system that conforms with international standards.
The twinning project, which will run for two years and is financed by the European Union, is led by the French Ministry of Justice with the collaboration of the Spanish General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ)– and it is managed by FIIAPP– and the Belgium Public Service for Justice.
The twinning is based on the exchange of knowledge on different subjects between the EU member states and the public administrations of the beneficiary countries. Up to 50 European experts will help the Moroccan institution to achieve its objectives, which include acquiring the best European and International practices in areas related to governance, training and communication.
The event was attended by the Moroccan Ministers for Justice and for Economy and Finance and the French, Spanish and Belgian ambassadors to the country, in addition to the European delegate and other national and international personalities.
