Moroccan experts visit Geneva to participate in the meeting of the United Nations Subcommittee of Experts on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Within the framework of the twinning project on the transportation of dangerous goods in Morocco, financed by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, a group of Moroccan officials belonging to the Ministry of Equipment, Transport Logistics and Water (METLE) and one person belonging to the Ministry of Mines of the Kingdom of Moroccovisited the headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva.
During their visit, the Moroccan delegation participated in a meeting of the United Nations Subcommittee of Experts on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, in charge of making recommendations for the transportation of these goods via road, rail, sea and air. Also, the official from the Ministry of Mines participated in a parallel session on information about explosives.
The objective of this activity was to support Morocco in the integration of the work carried out in the United Nations and to promote an active and responsible role in the implementation of the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).
The general objective of the twinning project is to improve the safety of the transportation of dangerous goods by road by adapting Moroccan regulations to the European.
