La Unión Europea financia este proyecto de hermanamiento que gestiona la FIIAPP y, que tiene como objetivo apoyar al país en la aplicación de la nueva legislación sobre medio ambiente.
The International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) and the Austrian environmental agency, presented in Skopje, FYR Macedonia, the new twinning project in the country. The aim is to support the implementation of the new industrial emissions directive, in other words, to improve environmental laws in Macedonia.
FIIAPP is collaborating in the project, which is being led by the Austrian environmental agency. It is being funded by the European Union in the amount of €900,000 and will have a duration of 15 months. During this time, experts from the environmental agency of the regional government of Galicia and from other self-governing communities in Spain will be working with their Macedonian counterparts to support application of the new legislation on industrial emissions and thereby improve environmental conditions in the country.
Kick-off of the project in Macedonia
This project has four main objectives, at both the local and national level, related to implementation in Macedonia of the European Industrial Emissions Directive, the European law regulating industrial emissions, which is to say prevention and control of pollution: assessment of the economic impact, development and strengthening of the law, and training of Macedonian experts.
This new project is being undertaken as a complement to the project on application of and compliance with the environmental acquis of the European Union, which is being managed and led by FIIAPP.
