A series of workshops and meetings on prevention of racism, racial discrimination and xenophobia has been organised in collaboration with Moroccan public institutions
The FIIAPP and AECID are jointly responsible for managing the Delegated Cooperation project “Living Together without Discrimination” (Vivre ensemble sans discrimination), funded by the European Union Trust Fund for África. The project has the support of the Spanish Observatory for Racism and Xenophobia (OBERAXE) and is intended to strengthen instruments and public policies aimed at fighting and preventing racism, racial discrimination and xenophobia toward the migrant population. The project also receives support from the Ministry of Moroccans Residing Abroad and Migration Issues (MCMREAM) and the National Council on Human Rights (CNDH).
The results of these workshops, organised in collaboration with several Moroccan public institutions and civil society organisations, include the development of a training plan to prevent racism and xenophobia for the public administration and a policy review of equality and non-racial and ethnic discrimination of immigrants in the international framework, as well as a survey of perceptions of immigration in Morocco.
There have also been several meetings among the committees appointed to govern the project, including a steering committee whose purpose has been the strategic planning of the project activities. Finally, training in the prevention of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and intolerance was organised for camp monitors.
