Spanish and Moroccan specialists work together to adapt the Moroccan education system to the European system
A delegation from the Moroccan Ministry of Education has visited Spain to see practical examples of higher education policies and regulations.
The twinning project “Support for higher education in Morocco”, funded by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, will continue until 2020 with the aim of bringing the Moroccan higher education system closer to the European model.
During their visit, the Moroccan officials visited the Spanish Service for the Promotion and Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE), the Education Department of the Government of Castilla y León, the University of Salamanca and the headquarters of FIIAPP.
The working and study sessions tackled such topics as approval and quality control processes for undergraduate, master’s and doctorate degrees; the inspection of universities; legislation and authority in the sector and other practical issues as part of the European Higher Education Space. This activity sought to identify good practices and experiences in this area that could be exported to Morocco.
This project, which is funded by the European Union, offers support to the Moroccan Ministry of Education for reforming the Moroccan Higher Education System. In it, experts from the Government of Castilla y León work with their Moroccan counterparts to introduce techniques, methods and tools that will help to implement an ECTS credit system and a new national strategy for this.
