In the framework of the project of Risk mitigation in the African Atlantic Façade region managed by the FIIAPP and funded by the European Commission, training was carried out on the treatment of hazardous chemical and biological substances.

This course has a dual function, on the one hand, it consists of training trainers on managing chemical and biological waste; and on the other, it seeks to establish links between experts from the region of the African Atlantic Façade in order to establish a network of collaboration that will work together in the future.

A total of sixteen experts took part in this training, two experts from each country participating in the project (Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Liberia, Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal and Togo). The national contact point from the European Union in Senegal, Diop Fagamou, was also present.

As a result of this training, participants will be able to apply the knowledge acquired and raise awareness among the various social actors on detecting and treating chemical and biological substances in their respective countries.

Awareness raising on chemical and biological waste management

This is the first regional training to take place in the framework of the project and contributes to one of the general objectives of the project, in terms of raising awareness of chemical and biological waste management.
