FIIAPP underlines its commitment to COP25

The Conference of the Parties (COP), the supreme decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), ended today after two weeks of negotiations and commitments to address the climate emergency.

With this objective in mind, the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) presented its work and commitment at the summit through EUROCLIMA+. The project, jointly managed by FIIAPP, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and other European institutions, had a prominent role at the summit.

Numerous meetings on the climate emergency were held in the EUROCLIMA+ pavilion. For example, FIIAPP director Anna Terrón moderated an event on climate action through the laws of Chile, Spain, Panama and Peru and spoke at the conference on gender approaches in climate action. FIIAPP Secretary General Inma Zamora also participated by presenting one of the events.

Finally, FIIAPP illustrated its commitment to renewable sources and energy efficiency through the Cuba-Renewables project. This programme is funded by the European Union and sought investment opportunities during the summit, which closed today.

Aware of the importance of acting now to move forward together to fulfil the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement, FIIAPP joins other international actors in their efforts to mitigate climate change.
