From an institutional and systemic point of view, the greatest achievement of this stage (2018-2019) for FIIAPP has been its real and coordinated integration into the Spanish public cooperation system.

The exchange of knowledge, the transfer of experiences and learning between homologous public administrations from different countries. All this is what makes FIIAPP possible every day through its work in Spanish and European cooperation.
In this sense, 2019 has been a year full of FIIAPP projects in which we have worked to face major global challenges such as mitigating climate change, achieving greater social cohesion in Latin American countries and fighting drug smuggling and people trafficking and smuggling.
All this, thanks to projects that have the FIIAPP brand including EUROCLIMA+, COPOLAD II, EUROsociAL+ Bridging the Gap, SEACOP and EU-ACT, among many others. It is also thanks to the participation of the General State Administration as a whole. During 2019, FIIAPP has mobilised the work of more than 120 Spanish institutions and 640 international institutions and has managed projects with financing of more than 350 million euros.
In addition, in this last year, FIIAPP has placed greater emphasis on three highly strategic issues: gender equality, the ecological transition and migration.
In methodological issues, it is worth highlighting our efforts to install an appropriate and structured knowledge management system, which seeks to consolidate FIIAPP’s “know-how” and helps to make visible the added value it brings to the system.
With a presence in over 100 countries, FIIAPP accompanies institutions and partner countries in public policy reform processes oriented by their priorities and by shared agendas. Inma Zamora, general secretary of FIIAPP posed the question: Who ensures that knowledge is transformative and how is this carried out? Who translates this into changes in society, changes in policies and institutions that ultimately improve citizens’ lives? Well, that wonderful and unique task falls to FIIAPP. We select and convey knowledge in such a way that it produces change and has an impact on systems and, therefore, on citizens’ lives.
Looking ahead, with the 2030 Agenda as a road map, FIIAPP is facing up to challenges such as the development of its collective intelligence system and the consolidation of a reputation for excellence, quality, exemplary public service, and for having an impact on public systems to improve people’s lives.
