FIIAPP specialists visited theLa Marañosa Institute of Technology (ITM), of the Ministry of Defence, to learn about the work this institution is doing and to present the CBRN projects the Foundation is working on. The objective of this meeting was to promote future collaborations between the two institutions.
The FIIAPP representatives, which included Security and Justice Area Director Miguel Domingo, explained the international cooperation work of the Foundation to the ITM representatives, in addition to the seven CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) Risk Mitigation projects it is executing in the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe.
The FIIAPP experts also toured the ITM facilities and learned about the work this institution is doing. They were accompanied on this visit by the General of the Army Corps of Engineers Division, José Luis Orts Palés.
This meeting served to bring the two institutions into contact with each other, with the goal of working together. For the FIIAPP, the participation of the La Marañosa Institute of Technology in future initiatives is very important, as it is a reference centre in CBRN incident response and prevention strategies.
The ITM is currently immersed in the process of merging with the National Aerospace Technical Institute (INTA), an organisation with which the FIIAPP shares various cooperation projects in different countries around the world.
