The new FIIAPP office is located at the Embassy of Spain in Belgium, the European capital where the Foundation has been represented since 2010
The FIIAPP office in Brussels, headed by Silvia Prada, has as its main objective to participate and contribute to the promotion of a structured dialogue with stakeholders in European cooperation. Moreover, the FIIAPP delegations represent the Foundation in its field of action, in the context of Spain’s external action as well as of the European Union.
The event was backed jointly by the ambassador of Spain in the Kingdom of Belgium, Beatriz Larrotcha Palma, and the director of FIIAPP, Anna Terrón.
“As Spanish cooperation, we are proud to be part of European cooperation“, stressed Anna Terrón, director of FIIAPP, in the opening speech.
She also stressed that “public administrations are fundamental in the 2030 Agenda, as they accompany the processes of policy reform and build joint responses to common threats”.
Among the attendees of the inauguration, we can highlight that of the General Manager of International Cooperation and Development for the European Commission, Stefano Manservisi. In addition, representatives from the General Directorate of Neighbourhood and Negotiations for Enlargement, the European External Action Service and the Committee of the Regions attended. Meanwhile, different Ambassadors of Latin America were present in Brussels.
Likewise, the event was attended by the permanent representative of Spain to the European Union, Ambassador Pablo García Berdoy; counsellors of the permanent representation of Spain in the EU belonging to the areas of the interior, territorial policy, cooperation and development, and AECID. Also attending this opening ceremony were personalities of the Brussels delegation from Extremadura, Castilla La Mancha, Comunidad Valenciana and Navarra.
