The official handover of the co-presidency took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, as part of the 15th anniversary of the network
The FIIAPP has assumed the co-presidency of the Practitioners’ Network, the network of European cooperation agencies, together with the Dutch SNV.
The one-year co-presidency will allow both entities to work together on development, promoting the role of the PN as a key player in strengthening the European development cooperation system. FIIAPP Director, Anna Terrón, stated at the annual assembly (AMGA), where the baton was handed over, that “we are stronger together and we need to work in a coherent way. Contributing to the definition of the European Development Architecture is a priority. There are many challenges ahead.
The new co-chair will continue to work to strengthen the #TeamEurope narrative and to put the public talent of the institutions to good use, with an inclusive and comprehensive approach. The aim is to promote the role of the PN as a key driver to strengthen European development cooperation. In addition, it aims to implement the Global Gateway, enhancing joint implementation initiatives among members, and strengthening ties with other European networks.
The AMGA also celebrated 15 years of the network, which was founded in 2007. Since then, the PN has served as a platform for exchange, coordination and harmonization between development cooperation entities and the European Commission.
