The director of the FIIAPP, Anna Terrón, and the president of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), Luis Henry Molina Peña, have met to identify initiatives to improve cooperation projects
The Director General of the FIIAPP, Anna Terrón, has met with the President of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), Luis Henry Molina Peña. At the meeting they agreed to draw up a roadmap to identify initiatives for improvement and development, as well as their link with the cooperation projects currently being promoted by the Delegation of the European Union.
In addition, they have agreed to identify development programmes focused on vulnerable populations, with an emphasis on migrants who require services from the justice system in the Dominican Republic, with the objective of guaranteeing the dignity and respect of persons, according to the Strategic Plan Vision Justice 20/24.
Judge Molina Peña took advantage of the meeting with the director of the FIIAPP to invite her to participate in the World Law Congress to be held in February 2025 in the Dominican Republic.
During the meeting, the plan that is being implemented in the Judiciary to achieve an up-to-date justice system, aimed at guaranteeing the dignity of the people, with the goals of achieving 0% delays, 100% access and 100% transparency, was also shared with Terrón.
Other points discussed were the importance of strengthening and extending the Twinning project in time and scope, as well as strengthening the collaborative relationship with the FIIAPP, with a view to sharing methodologies and good practices.
Through the European Union Twinning project, specialists from different disciplines from Spain and Germany provide support to the Dominican judiciary, strengthening areas such as the Inspector General’s Office, so that it is increasingly perceived as a support service and accompaniment to judges, by promoting an ordinary inspection more oriented towards perceiving the needs of the courts, their organisation, needs and materials.
At the meeting, Terrón was accompanied by Mariano Guillén Oquendo, director of the Justice and Rule of Law Area of the FIIAPP.
This meeting was part of the agenda of the Judicial Power commission, made up of the president of the SCJ, Molina Peña, magistrate Samuel Arias Arzeno and councillor Bionni Zayas.
