The EUROsociAL programme, financed by the European Commission, coordinated an exchange visit in Chile to improve taxpayer assistance services in Uruguay, tailored to the needs expressed to the programme by the beneficiary countries.
Immersed in the process of improving taxpayer information and assistance services, the Uruguayan Directorate-General of Taxes (DGI) visited the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (SII) from 30th September to 2nd October.
With this exchange visit, the DGI seeks to learn about, analyze and adapt to the Uruguayan reality the best practices implemented by the SII aimed at making it easier for taxpayers to meet their obligations through different channels, thereby contributing to increasing the efficiency of the Administration.
The exchange visit was managed within the framework of the EUROsociAL programme as part of the “Voluntary Compliance with Tax Obligations” Action of the “Public Finance Area”, coordinated by the FIIAPP, whose operational partners are the Spanish AEATand IEF, and the CIAT. From here on out, the CIAT, along with the EUROsociAL IIProgramme partners,will monitor the progress, needs and interests that arise in the beneficiary tax administrationsin order to move forward in new activities to support voluntary compliance.
