EUROsociAL is lending its support to the Chilean Council for Transparency's visit to the United Kingdom, Scotland, Germany and the European Union headquarters to improve its citizen participation tools.
International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) welcomed representatives from the Chilean Council for Transparency (CPLT) prior to a series of meetings with institutions in European countries to learn about their transparency, access to information and citizen participation policies. The meeting took place on 23 January at the FIIAPP headquarters in Madrid, where FIIAPP director Pedro Flores met the Chilean organisation’s Chairman, Jorge Jaraquemada and General Manager, Raúl Ferrada. The Democratic Institutions Area of EuroSociAL, coordinated by FIIAAP, sponsored this activity.
EUROsociAL also supports the Latin American Transparency and Public Access to Information Network. On this subject, Ferrada talked about the progress that is being made.“It is very important for the network to have a partner like EUROsociAL because it gives us greater capacity for action, widens our network of influence and work, and this gradually becomes evident”, he said.
Before embarking on its European Tour, the Chilean Council for Transparency (CPLT) presented its experience at the 3rd Chile-Spain Transparency and Good Governance Forum, which took place in the Senate early this week. Spain was represented by the Spanish Data Protection Agency, the National Institute of the Public Administration, the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and Transparency International Spain at the event.
