Countries from Europe and the African Atlantic coast met in Rabat (Morocco) at the end of the cooperation project for the management of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear flows.

The CBRN 35 Project, was financed by the European Union through the European Instrument for Peace and Stability and managed by FIIAPP. The project involved the exchange of all kinds of practices and experiences with the aim of improving their participating countries’ capacity to react to, for example, an Ebola epidemic, a nuclear accident or a terrorist attack.

More than 600 experts from the foreign and interior ministries of these countries have been trained to reduce these risks.

In addition, work has been carried out on developing different guides for the management of biological and chemical wastes, on training more than 500 people in how to apply the regulations governing competition and to set up a network of experts in the eight countries.

This regional project is part of the European Commission’s CBRN Centres of Excellence (CoE). It is ending after five years working with experts in the field from the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (AENOR) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
