The International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) has successfully concluded an international cooperation project in Croatia on cybercrime. Funded with 700 thousand euros by the European Commission, the one-year project has focused on strengthening the capacities of the Forensic Sciences Centre, improving the system for fighting cybercrime and supporting the new organisational model of the Croatian criminal police in the field of cybercrime.
For its management, the FIIAPP has mobilised experts from the National Police Force and the Civil Guard. The closing conference highlighted the harmony and coordination of all the parties involved in the project (Croatia, Spain and Austria) when it comes to integrating capacities and wills in a common interest. Therefore, the initial objective of providing the ideas, experiences, recommendations and specialised training of the Austrian and Spanish Police in the field of technological police investigation, to increase the emerging capabilities of the Croatian Police, has been met. According to the police, fraud is the main cybercrime affecting Croatia, along with scams, publication of illegal content and attacks on computer systems.
