The visit is part of the international cooperation project for exchange of experts between the EU and Cuba.
Within the framework of the Cuba-EU expertise exchange international cooperation project, members of Cuba’s ministry of foreign trade (MINCEX) visited public and private institutions in Madrid and The Hague (Netherlands).
During the visit, the delegation of Cuban experts was able to learn from the inside about the operation of the Spanish and Dutch institutions that are counterparts to the Centre for Promotion of Foreign Trade , the Cuban institution to which the delegation belongs. These institutions are the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX), the Chamber of Commerce, and National Business Schools of Spain and the Netherlands.
The visits enabled them to broaden their knowledge of the methodology used in Spain and the Netherlands for training civil servants on the subject of foreign trade and foreign investment and its possible application to the Cuban system.
The delegation of Cuban experts was made up of the Director General of Foreign Trade of MINCEX, Vivian Bárbara Herrera Cid, and the Director of the Centre for Promotion of Foreign Trade of MINCEX, Iris Cruz Gómez, among others.
