Havana hosted a seminar that provided consultancy services to Cuban export companies and discussed the location of attractive markets

The Cuban Chamber of Commerce hosted a seminar entitled ‘Technical production with the Chamber of Commerce focused on consulting services for Cuban export companies’, held as part of the EU-Cuba Facility for Expertise Exchanges, a project funded by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP.
The primary purpose of the activity was for the Cuban Chamber of Commerce to establish a new consulting service to support internationalization of Cuban companies and improve their competitiveness by opening new markets for trade. The aim was to enable more companies to export by organising activities tailored to the needs and characteristics of participating enterprises, and by locating optimal markets for their products or services.
The seminar was divided into an initial internal session with the Cuban Chamber of Commerce consisting of a detailed analysis of the session methodology, adapting this to the needs of Cuban companies and determining the conditions and requirements for participants in this service. This was followed by two full days of basic knowledge transfer to enable companies to devise their international strategies. Companies also benefitted from one-to-one sessions with advice on their internationalization processes.
The initiative gave companies a comprehensive overview of the internationalization process, illustrating essential techniques, tools and strategies to start working abroad, to raise their awareness, analyse their baseline situations and establish strategies for starting to work abroad in an orderly fashion, maximizing the resources invested.
