This project to promote renewable energy sources and energy efficiency is part of the second EU-Cuba expertise exchange programme
This project, which is financed by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, aims to support the implementation of a policy to promote renewable sources of energy and energy efficiency, facilitate foreign investment in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors, and also facilitate access to international cooperation funds.
Commonly referred to as Cuba-Renovables, the project will have a budget of 4,300,000 euros and is part of the Support for Cuba’s Energy Programme, implemented as a cooperation strategy between the EU and Cuba. The purpose of the project is to support the country’s government in the efficient and sustainable management of its resources. This support programme, which has four components to ensure its success, seeks to give relevance to both renewable energy and energy efficiency objectives.
FIIAPP is managing the first component of the programme, focused on supporting the effective implementation of the policy for the perspective development of renewable energy sources and the efficient use of energy and its regulatory framework.
In order to benefit from the existing operational structure and its successful methodology, the Cuba-Renovables project has been inserted into the EU-Cuba expertise programme, which entered its second phase in 2017.
