In the framework of the European project Digital Standards for Social Protection, a Spanish delegation has travelled to Chile to deepen the SENAMA's interoperability proposal.
‘It is very enriching to see the solutions that other countries find to challenges that we also have in Spain. The hospitality and commitment shown by the SENAMA team makes working here a luxury’. This is how Jorge Díaz García-Herrera, senior state technician in telecommunications and currently responsible for new technologies in the Ronda City Council, summed up the work that has been carried out in Chile. Accompanied by Raúl Martín Garcés and Ana Cirujano, from FIIAPP, Díaz, together with experts from SENAMA (Servicio Nacional de Atención al Adulto Mayor), has drawn up a roadmap to make the service interoperable and improve the digitalisation procedure, all with the aim of providing better care to the population. This planning will be the guide for the next two years.
Chile faces a major challenge in caring for the elderly. Currently, they represent 15.7% of the population, but this percentage is expected to increase to 23.7% by 2030. In this context, SENAMA is committed to advancing the use of new technologies, with a focus on digitalisation and data sharing with other entities working in social protection.
This project is implemented under a Team Europe approach by GIZ, the main implementing partner, in partnership with Expertise France and FIIAPP, together with the ILO and the World Bank. The aim of the project is to contribute to the achievement of Universal Social Protection 2030 through the standardisation and interoperability of digital social protection systems at national, regional and global levels.
