Albania seeks to strengthen the control and supervision mechanisms of its judicial system by adopting the best practices identified during the interaction with the Spanish inspectors
The Albanian inspectors’ visit to Spain was aimed at fostering the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of judicial and fiscal inspection between the two countries. Through this initiative, the aim is to provide the Albanian inspectors with a deeper understanding of the Spanish judicial and tax inspection system, its procedures, best practices and challenges. It is expected that this process will facilitate the implementation of reforms and improvements in the Albanian judicial system, thus promoting transparency, efficiency and quality in the administration of justice.
During the visit, specific areas of the Spanish judicial inspection system have been addressed, including inspection procedures, evaluation of judicial performance, identification and management of cases of judicial misconduct, among other relevant aspects. In addition, policies and practices related to the supervision of judicial bodies and the guarantee of judicial independence were explored.
This activity is part of the European project EU4JUSTICE Albania: Enhancing the Capacity of Independent Judicial Institutions in Albania, which seeks to support the self-governing bodies of the Albanian judiciary and strengthen the independence, transparency, efficiency, accountability and public confidence in the Albanian judicial system in line with EU practices.
This visit is a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing, collaboration and mutual improvement between the Albanian and Spanish judicial systems. It is expected to contribute significantly to strengthening the institutional capacity and effectiveness of the Albanian judicial system, thus promoting access to effective and equal justice for all citizens.
