The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Lithuanian Cooperation Agency made a study visit to find out about the Spanish cooperation model
The European Consensus on Development focuses on the idea of mobilizing all resources for development, including a knowledge of the public sector in the member states of the European Union.
FIIAPP is supporting the European cooperation office (EuropeAid) to expand its peer cooperation instruments, with a special emphasis on the participation of government departments from the member states that joined the European Union in recent years. The transition experience is very important for these departments in helping them with reform programmes.
In this context, FIIAPP received a delegation from the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Lithuanian Cooperation Agency (CPMA), which is studying the Spanish cooperation model as a reference for reforming its development policy management model.
The visit offered an excellent opportunity for sharing good practices and experiences, both of twinning projects and the shared challenges of managing delegated cooperation and having the CPMA join the Practitioners’ Network, the work group promoting the participation of public experts. Also, information was shared on internal organisation, both by FIAPP and the Lithuanian agency.
In addition to the meetings at FIIAPP, the Lithuanian delegation visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Spanish International Cooperation Agency for Development (AECID).
