Can fire help us to preserve the Amazon?

FIIAPP, through the Amazonia+ programme, works at regional, national and sub-national levels to combat deforestation, degradation and forest fires in the Amazon basin.

We work on integrated fire management in the Amazon Basin to address the challenges of forest fires in this region. We address Integrated Fire Management (IFM) at regional, national and local levels to manage forest fires sustainably and effectively, considering not only fire prevention and control, but also the biological, environmental and social needs of indigenous communities and incorporating traditional knowledge into management strategies.
