The network of European cooperation organisations stresses the added value of this experience to increase its reach beyond Brussels and to foster constructive partnerships.
FIIAPP Director at high-level meeting in Kenya
The Practitioners’ Network (PN), a platform for European development cooperation organisations, recently visited Kenya for the first time to explore possibilities for joint implementation and collaboration with Kenyan stakeholders.
The visit brought together more than 40 participants from 16 NP member organisations and country offices who participated in an intensive 4-day programme. The programme included an opening meeting at the EU Delegation in Kenya to exchange information on Team Europe initiatives and the implementation of the global portal at national and regional level. The meeting was followed by field visits and learning sessions where 10 projects and programmes jointly implemented by various PN members were presented.
The visit proved to be a valuable learning experience for the participants. It was a great opportunity to explore the potential for better collaboration and to align the network’s priorities and activities with those of its partner countries.
The PN delegation was joined by key external guests for the high-level meeting organised jointly with the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre and moderated by award-winning journalist and TV presenter, Jeff Koinange. Chief Secretary for Energy, Alex Kamau Wachira, took the floor to welcome the PN members and deliver the keynote address. The meeting focused on the main thematic areas of the visit, namely energy transition, climate adaptation and mitigation, digitalisation, education and youth employment and water.
The high-level meeting and other interactions with government representatives, civil society leaders and other development organisations have provided the NP participants with meaningful insights. It has also provided an opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
The NP is therefore firmly convinced of the added value of this experience in increasing its reach beyond Brussels and fostering more meaningful and constructive partnerships.
