MASAR: Democratic Governance in the Arab World

Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Mauritania, Palestine, Tunisia, Libya

MASAR is a programme promoted and coordinated by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). Its objective is to support democratic processes in the beneficiary countries by contributing to modernisation and the strengthening of institutions and key actors in the development of the rule of law.  FIIAPP is collaborating in its development.

Priority attention is being given to gender equality, freedom of the press, reform of prison institutions, respect for human rights, policies for promoting SMEs, modernisation of the judiciary, support to the fight against corruption, and building the capacities of security forces.
